Beyoncé and Role Models

I’m sitting in granny pants with haphazardly cut elastic edging to accommodate my post birth tummy. My trousers needed washing after walking the dog, and besides, post childbirth and breastfeeding I’ve adjusted my privacy settings. I’m expressing my boobs, and playing Lemonade to Runner Bean, who’s in his crib.

I figure I need to grow his Beyoncé appreciation early. He needs to know women can be strong, complex, vulnerable, creative, hardworking, beautiful but also powerful, dress provocatively as expression (without it being an invitation). That women bring home the crumb, too.

She’s one of the kind of role models he needs if he’s going to cut the modern man mustard (and hopefully neutralise other questionable influences).
